To preserve the leather's natural glow and soft finish, we recommend that you maintain it regularly – especially if the surface feels dull or dry. It doesn't require much, but this small effort makes a big difference to the bag's lifespan and appearance.

The care product is 100% natural and produced with nutrient-rich ingredients from Danish beekeeping. Here's how
The leather care from BISTAD should be at room temperature when you apply it. If it's too cold, white spots may appear. These can be removed by warming up the care with a hairdryer while gently distributing it on the leather.
Apply the leather wax with a microfiber cloth in a thin layer using circular motions. If you use a cloth other than the recommended microfiber cloth, fabric residue or threads may get stuck in the leather's texture.
After application, the bag should rest overnight so that the care product can properly penetrate the leather. If the bag is used too soon, dirt and dust can be attracted more easily.
Leather is a natural material. Just as our own skin benefits from moisture, it is therefore recommended that you care for your leather bag 2-3 times a year to maintain the leather's suppleness and strength.
When your bag becomes a part of your life
Once your ALVINÉ bag has found its permanent place in your everyday life, it's worth giving it a little attention now and then. With a few simple habits, you can extend the bag's life and preserve the leather's natural beauty – even when life gets busy.
Daily cleaning
Should you be unlucky enough to spill water or anything else in the bag, the most important thing is to act immediately. Use a clean, wrung-out cloth to remove the liquid and let the bag dry completely – preferably open and at room temperature. Once the leather is dry, we recommend applying a thin layer of the included leather care from BISTAD so that the leather does not dry out.
Daily, you can wipe the bag with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Small marks from use or bumps can often be carefully removed with a lightly moistened cloth.
Regular leather care
Like skin, leather needs moisture to maintain its suppleness and glow. We recommend caring for the bag 1–2 times a year, or when the leather starts to look dry or dull. The included leather care from Danish BISTAD is made with natural ingredients and is easily applied in a thin, even layer over the entire surface of the bag.

Storage
When you know you won't be using your ALVINÉ bag for an extended period, it's a good idea to store it in the included dust bag or Tote bag. This protects the bag from direct sunlight, which can cause the leather to dry out and crack, especially if it hasn't received the care we recommend.
Like sunlight, high temperatures can also negatively affect the leather and cause it to lose its suppleness. Therefore, store your bag in a dry, tempered place – preferably in a wardrobe or under the bed. Avoid attics, where temperatures can vary greatly and reach 40-50 degrees in the summer, as this can cause damage to the leather.
Overloading
Although ALVINÉ bags are known for their durability, it is important to avoid overloading the bag. Avoid overloading the bag with overly heavy items, as this can strain seams and straps, leading to unnecessary wear and tear over time.
